It was once upon a time that people were born perfectly good enough. In this educational project this is our reality. We are not proclaiming to capture eternity in the Greek understanding from Alpha to Omega, nor to be the best educational project in the univers – our goal is to be a beta and to accept that IT never will be finnished.
In the complex world we live in, we accept that we live or do at a level of “beta” ….so that IT will always be space for improvements.
This photo is from NASA and show interactive educational video of our Globe – or Gaia, as the Greek would have expressed it in the time when Eratosthenes was the chief librarian at the ancient Library of Alexandria. He was recognized as the father of geography and was nicknamed ‘beta’ for his different skills in many directions. This is what we need right now – art must synthesize with science, and business with education, so we together can create our small learning villages in this complex and paradoxical time.
The theme will be OUR OCEANS. If you follow is link to Vimeo you will see a video and the beta-version The Globe and the different NASA films about our oceans.
The local films from the community of Molde will telling different stories why we love our local community and our love for nature. The city symbol for Molde is the whale, and this will be displayed on The Globe. In this way a very unique local part of the city identity will be connected to the global story of our oceans.
Our small village is still not a perfect in the terms of Circular Economy, we are on this level on ‘beta’. On our local Globe we will display more than 10 different companies busy in their work for a more sustainable world, and to bring forward this educational project.
Science meet art and busy-ness for a better understanding of our complex world. Welcome to join our ‘beta’ for a better world!
